Who We Are: What We Do
We are a Christian community service organization that has served in Northeast Tennessee for more than 30 years. We strive to make neighborhoods more connected, homes more livable, and community members healthier by providing services & supports to those who need them most. We offer people a place to call home, connect with others, & deepen their relationship with God.
GOD SIZED DREAMS
In 1988, Sheldon Livesay – a native of Rogersville, TN – was working at a family-owned business, the Rogersville Milling Company, but felt the call to do more. As a Christian and rooted in his faith in God, Sheldon found himself taking a leap of faith. He knew the region had a history of chronic poverty. And Sheldon knew he needed to do something about it. Through the prayer and support of his church, Sheldon and his family began to distribute emergency food to persons in need from the bedroom of their home.
Sheldon recruited others who had a passion for serving others. These early pioneers were instrumental in forming Of One Accord Ministry’s vision for helping others. Within just 2 years, the ministry became incorporated (1990), and since then expanded its services into all of Hawkins and Hancock Counties in Appalachian Northeast TN. Of One Accord Ministry was birthed from this humble beginning, and 30 years later the ministry continues to thrive.
Sheldon was more than a leader; he was and continues to be a man of deep faith and a steward to his community. He has set the tone for what Of One Accord Ministry is today. It’s a place people call home. An organization rooted in commitment to one another. And a ministry of compassion where extending Jesus' love is the highest priority of all.

HOW TO KNOW JESUS
STEP 1
God loves you & has a plan for you!
The Bible says, “God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, [Jesus Christ], that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life” (John 3:16). Jesus said, “I came that they may have life and have it abundantly” — a complete life full of purpose (John 10:10).
